Courier-IMAP (Copyright
1999-2002, Double Precision, Inc. GNU
General Public License) is a standalone IMAP server that
can be used with H-Sphere Qmail server to provide IMAP access
to Maildirs.
To install Courier-IMAP:
- Download IMAP installation:
wget http://www.psoft.net/shiv/HS209/[OSCODE]/hsphere/hsphere-imap-1.5.3-1.[ext]
where OSCODE is the code of the operating system, e.g.:
RH72 for RedHat 7.2,
MDK82 for Mandrake 8.2,
FBSD4 for FreeBSD4.X (all FreeBSD4 updates)
ext is the pakage extension:
rpm for Linux,
tgz for FreeBSD.
- Install Courier-IMAP:
Linux:
rpm -ivh hsphere-imap-1.5.3-1.rpm
FreeBSD:
pkg_add hsphere-imap-1.5.3-1.tgz
- Start Courier-IMAP:
Linux:
/sbin/chkconfig --level 2345 courier-imapd on
/etc/rc.d/init.d/courier-imapd start
FreeBSD:
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/courier-imapd.sh start
- For users of H-Sphere 2.1 and higher:
If you like Courier-IMAP and would like to use it by default, open file
/hsphere/shared/apache/htdocs/horde/imp/config/servers.php
and change port 110 to port 143 and pop and pop3 to imap
